MARCH 2022

Dear {CONTACT.SALUTATION},

I do hope you and your family are well.

For those of you who have recently joined, this is Wild Philanthropy's bi-monthly newsletter, designed to highlight conservation stories.

Stories featured in this month's letter include an excellent long read on the peatlands of the Congo, Will Jones's hosting of the Financial Times in northern Kenya, and different ways in which artificial intelligence is being put to work in the name of conservation.

I'd also like to direct your attention to one other story, which outlines an amendment to Kenya's forest law, and which threatens to remove the Kenya Forest Service's powers to advise on forest boundaries. If, after reading Edged Out, you would like to help, please see the East African Wild Life Society's appeal.

I  hope you enjoy it – and please do get in touch if you have any comments, questions, or indeed ideas for our next newsletter. I look forward to hearing from you.

Yours,
Paul Herbertson
